Project Overview

Viking Remodel

It’s not often I run into a project more deserving than this one. The cabinets were old, the door hardware wasn’t functioning very well, the drawers wouldn’t close easily and the Lazy Susan in the corners would not stay closed. They definitely in need of at least an update.

As I was discussing the project with the misses of the household I looked up and noticed a framed MN Vikings football jersey on the wall. I asked what her husband did for a living. It’s often helpful to know how people live in order to design a space that better suits their needs. She tells me that he is Brian Robison of the Minnesota Vikings. After some further dialog about what they expect in a kitchen on how they plan to use it it was obvious a redesign was their best option. I proceeded to take all the necessary measurements, went back to the office and started putting in existing kitchen dimensions into our design software. After trying out several design concepts I narrowed it down to one design that I believed was the best fit for their home and family.

The design was approved by the clients and we moved to the next step, material selection. Dark brown granite for the counter tops, travertine back-splash and floor tiles, oak cabinets with a darker stain and stainless steel appliances were the materials selected. At this time I also made the clients aware that many of our kitchens projects can be completed in about a week but the scope of their project would require closer to three weeks. The Robison’s were fine with the time frame, as long as they had they had their kitchen back in time for the Thanksgiving holiday, in 22 days.

The kitchen remodel process went as expected and we were able to finish on time, before Thanksgiving. At the end of the project Brian commented on having worked with contractors before and appreciated Aspen Remodelers had never let them down and always followed through with promises.
Thanks Brian! It was our pleasure.
